A new day for JV soccer and football
Spectators at Madera South High School’s stadium had no place to rest their weary legs. Or concession stands to fill their growling stomachs. Or even restrooms nearby. And the field? Too small for the JV soccer team, and surrounded by a dirt track. We huddled with the athletic director, the district, and bleacher providers to come up with solutions to their long wish list: new bleachers, a larger synthetic-turf field for JV soccer and football, synthetic track, new main entry, new concession/restroom building near the entrance and a restroom/storage building at the far end of the field that serves softball, as well. Even visiting teams will have their own bleachers. The design pulled elements such as school logo, stone veneers and metalwork from the rest of the campus, tying it all together. Fingers crossed the varsity teams won’t be too jealous.
