Preparing students for the real world
Real-world career experience is not usually part of a high-school education. That’s what makes this project so unique. Not only did we add a credit union branch to a high school campus, but this credit union offers students a rare opportunity for on-the-job training, right where they study. In addition to the banking space, which is open to the public, a flexible classroom and entrepreneurial finance lab allows budding businesspeople to set up their own pop-up shops with merchandise display areas, video displays, and financial-planning support. The student store with school-branded gear designed into the addition gives students the opportunity to gain additional merchandising and customer service experience.
